Welcome to Our Chalet
We are the first World Centre of WAGGGS, World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, where since 1932 visitors have been living their dreams of Hiking, Skiing, Fun and Friendship!
We are open to groups, families and individual guests of all ages, females and males,
members of Guiding and Scouting and non members for a day visit, an overnight stay,
or as participants at many International events and seminars.

Our Chalet is one of the 5 WAGGGS World Centres and it is located in Adelboden, Switzerland.
Situated high up in the mountains (1,350 metres/4,500 feet above sea level), on the outskirts of the beautiful Swiss Alpine village of Adelboden, Our Chalet is located in the very heart of the Bernese Oberland. Adelboden is just one hour away from the capital of Switzerland, Bern.
Our Chalet is ideally positioned close to the ski and hiking areas and the village with magnificent views of the mountains and easy access to a number of outdoor attractions and activities.
Our Chalet is open from mid December through to end of October and welcomes Independant guests, families and groups.
How to get there
Our Chalet is positioned high in the Alps and is easily accessible via train and bus from all the major airports including Bern, Geneva, Zurich and Milan.
Food and supplies
Our Chalet offers meals including a buffet breakfast, packed lunch and a two course dinner. Programme events include all meals for the durations of the event whilst Independant guests can book meals in advance for a fee.
During the summer months of June, July and August, Our Chalet runs a youth programme called Swiss Challenge. These are adventure packed mountain fun including hikes and day trips. During the winter months the mountains are full of snow, snow shoeing, sledding, downhill skiing, cross country skiing and snow tubing. Spring and Autumn offer a range of hiking and other programme events.
Our Chalet has a number of long term paid staff as well as several volunteering positions. Intern positions are available for 3 to 6 months depending on visa requirements. Our Chalet Assistant volunteer positions are seasonal and are for 3 months (except Autumn which is 2 months). There are also times when additional short term volunteers are required for specific projects or very busy times.
