At Vässarö and in my own scout group I use some of the lessons and some of the tools in order to understand more what our staff and guests are looking for. In the Social Media workshop we were talking about the problem that the most vocal voices online tends to be the fanboys and the very complaining. The big silent crowd is under represented. By using web analytics tools in a clever way we can star to learn more about the big majority, what they look for and the diversity within the majority. The tools are free and it helps if you organize your web presences for easy measurement. One example: at our program blogg, every activity is in its own page. That way I can easily see them most ‘searched’ activities but also why they were interesting for people in the first place. That’s important input for me.
