It’s hard not to be impressed by the gigant wood pillars, the height of the roof and the size of the Celtic house here in Neihasichen, Luxembourg. The planning team for 13:th Scout and Guide Centre Managers Conference (CMC) has been here since Thursday preparing the event on site. On Friday we opened the Goose Network Managers Meeting 2013 at 15:00. We have not closed it yet, what we have done is that we have covered most agenda items and now we are using the CMC to discuss the direction of the Goose Network in the long term, not necessary because we have a problem right now, on the contrary, the past year was quite good, but because if we don’t move at all, we will have problem in the end. Non profits has a charter to innovate. Næsbycenter is writing the meeting minutes by the way, so I let them post the details of the meeting later.
The CMC opened yesterday, I hd the sense that a few participants were quite tired after traveling yet there were plenty of energy in the Chappel as we officially opened. The evening ended with lots of additional planning for the planning team and a nice evening in the Celtic house for the participants.
One thing that took the planning team a little by surprise is how few of the participants went to the CMC in 2011 at Jambville. I think roughly 15 out of 47 participants were at Jambville and even fewer had been at two or more CMCs at all. Luckily, we have some managers that have been to as many as nine CMCs creating a nice balance. It’s going to be very interesting to see what this new generation of CMC participants will come up with in the following days.
