A year full of development – Goose Network Meeting 2013 Report from Næsbycenter

This year we have celebrated the Næsbycenter‘s 30th birthday. This was a day with speeches, birthday cake, activities, barbecue and campfire. During these 30 years we have undergone a great transformation. And this year was no exception, especially after our expansion. Some of the major thing we have being doing this year are:

• The continued work in planting and care of new trees on the new land

• Development and update of our activities

• There has been built 4 new shelters

• We are in the process of expanding our smithy

• We have built a new storageplace for our locks and we are working on another

• Among our volunteer center staff (Næsfolket), we have been through a process of development and unity

We also raised money for 5 new canoes, after we were unfortunate enough to have the old ones stolen. The canoes and our kayaks are very popular activities, and they are therefore important for our guests.

In the future, our biggest project is, that we hope to build a new activity house. During many meetings the discussions about the appearance and use are many. It is something that requires a lot of time and especially money, but we hope to get this finished in the foreseeable future.
