Staff Seminar 2013 – Friday Afternoon

This is the third in a series of blogg posts from the seminar being written by the participants themselves.

This afternoon we had a safety on centres workshop and a workshop about Belbin. At the safety on centres workshop we talked about safety risk on the campsites and how the different centres manage emergencies. We also had a practical section about first aid and how it is done in different countries and the differences in rules between countries. After a coffee break we talked about Belbin and made a group task where we had to build a tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows one person in each group had to observe how the other group members worked together.

Teamwork excercises

Afterwards we had to do a test to see which roles in a group you fulfilled. We also made the ‘rent a room’ task, where the group had to decide how to divide three rooms amongst themselves.
